Over the course of years, oil pollution and oil spills have majorly impacted the environment. This project consisted of collecting different types of biofuels to test the levels of toxicity on the heart rate of D. magna. Previous research concentrated on large-scale production of biofuels and biodiesel from corneal, food crops, algae, animal fats, wheat, energy crops, and sugars/starches. In comparison to the traditional crude oil, biofuels are nontoxic, and biodegradable. An experimental procedure allowed the understanding of the difference in toxicity of several biofuels.
