Cosmic rays and radioactive particles are constantly moving throughout space and can be viewed using cloud chambers. In this experiment, a cloud chamber shall be constructed by flipping a tank filled with an isopropyl alcohol mist over a metal plate. The metal plate will be cooled to a very low temperature using dry ice in order to bring the vapour solution to a state where it can be supersaturated. The chamber shall be used to view ionization trails left behind by transiting particles. Thereby, the effectiveness and purpose of cloud chambers will be demonstrated.
