Whether experienced or simple student, any scientist must follow strict safety standards in his work as well as some operating rules.

The regulations of the Science Fairs are primarily intended to ensure your safety and that of the public.

Failure to comply with Science Fair rules may result in team disqualification.

It is therefore essential to read them carefully!

YOUR PROJECT MAY REQUIRE APPROVAL. HERE ARE THE THREE MAIN CASES:

• If your project involves other human beings (e.g., filling out a questionnaire/survey) or requires the collection of human biological tissue samples. Then you need an ethics approval form.
• If your project involves one or more biological samples from living beings, excluding human beings (animals, plants, microorganisms). Then you need a biological material rules approval form.
• If your project involves the use of hazardous chemicals or materials, such as flammable, corrosive, or other substances, then you need a hazardous materials approval form.

These requests must be made BEFORE you begin your experiments and/or tests. You have until February to obtain the form you need.
