RULES
Whether experienced or simple student, any scientist must follow strict safety standards in his work as well as some operating rules.
The regulations of the Science Fairs are primarily intended to ensure your safety and that of the public.
Failure to comply with Science Fair rules may result in team disqualification.
It is therefore essential to read them carefully!
Which projects require approval?
There are three main cases in which approval from the provincial judging committee may be required:
- If your project involves other human beings (e.g. filling out a questionnaire/survey), or requires taking samples of human biological tissue;
- If your project involves taking biological samples from living beings other than human beings (animals, plants, micro-organisms);
- If your project involves the use of hazardous chemical substances or materials, such as flammable, corrosive or other substances.
Are you ready to write your written report and create your posters? Pay special attention to the quality of the language. Remember that there are tools available in your school, including Antidote software, to help you review your texts! Maybe your vigilance will earn you the Antidote Award for Language Quality!
